Kanchan Dhahan, Associate

Bio:

Kanchan was born in Vancouver, B.C. but spent a good part of her childhood in Punjab, India. Having gone through the school system in Punjab, she can fluently read, write, and speak Punjabi, and can fluently speak Hindi.

Kanchan majored in Cell Biology and Genetics at the University of British Columbia and went on to complete her law degree there as well. In law school, Kanchan was involved with several student organizations, including the Law Students Legal Advice Program (LSLAP) and the South Asian Law Students Association. Through her volunteer work with LSLAP, Kanchan met with clients and provided summary advice, along with some follow-up services.

Following law school, Kanchan joined CBM as an articled student in February 2011.

Community Involvement / Personal Interests / Hobbies:

Kanchan is involved with fundraising for the Canadian Diabetes Association. She also volunteers with the Nanak Sikh Mission Charity Organization, which organizes regular “soup kitchens” in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside area.

Kanchan enjoys exercising regularly and going on as many hikes as possible during the summer months. She also likes attempting to hone her culinary skills, especially when it comes to baked goods.
