Experience
Tom is a seasoned trial lawyer. Since his call to the British Columbia bar in 1978, he has appeared at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. The focus of his career has been on personal injuries, having handled claims of paraplegia, severe brain injury, psychological injury and orthopedic injury. He has also represented families of those who have died in car accidents.
Background
Tom grew up in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and from an early age gained an insight into being an effective trial lawyer from his father, a Queens Counsel in that province. Tom earned his law degree in 1977 from Dalhousie Law School in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
On a personal level, Tom enjoys time with his wife and children. He recognizes that it is important to share the big and little things in life. He plays guitar and he is a long-distance runner. Tom understands that the selection of a lawyer is always a personal decision, and that everyone is different and every case unique. |
