Experience
As one of the founding members of Campbell, Burton and McMullan, John has been practicing law in Langley since 1977. His primary area of practice is in civil litigation and mediation. He has over thirty years experience, including construction disputes, mediation, arbitration, family litigation and estate litigation.
Background
In 1986, John was one of the first lawyers to complete the Family Mediation program in BC and to become certified as a mediator in family disputes. In 1993, John obtained his certification in Advanced Commercial Mediation. He also qualified as an Arbitrator in 1998. John has also appeared in Supreme Court and the court of appeal in British Columbia many times over the years.
Education
John obtained both his BA in Economics and his Law degree from UBC and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1976.
Family & Community
John, his wife, Patricia, and their two children have been living in Langley since 1975. John is committed to being active within the Langley community and has been a member of the Langley Central Rotary Club since 1983. He is currently President of the Langley Chamber of Commerce and is past Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association. John is also a former Councillor on the Langley Township Council and Past Chairman of the Langley School Board.
